Director FP&A Customer Acquisition

To support this mission, SimpliSafe is seeking a highly motivated, self-starting FP&A Director to support the customer acquisition function reporting to the VP, Financial Planning and Analysis. This person will look to leverage best practices of world-class FP&A functions, tailoring these to meet SimpliSafe’s needs as a fast-growing, agile company. The ideal candidate will have experience in building for scale and an ability to roll up their sleeves. No job can be too big or too small for the team driving strategic insight when you’re changing the industry!

In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute directly to our growth and help provide direction to our organization. You will join a dynamic FP&A team and will interact directly with cross functional groups and executive leadership. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Form trusted advisory partnerships with members of the Sales & Marketing leadership teams providing analytical and financial support to assist business achieve operational goals and strategy
  • Partner with organizational leaders to provide visibility and improved financial and operational impact of existing and new initiatives.  
  • Proactively look for ways to identify and deliver incremental value creation, e.g., cost savings, revenue growth, and share capture with your in-depth knowledge of the business you support and enable
  • Develop and drive wide range of process improvements for operational excellence and value creation   
  • Provide critical thinking and guidance to evaluate financial and business impact of key initiatives and strategic decision making
  • Establish effective budgeting and forecasting operational process to the organization
  • Play a critical role in managing performance of your business partners, e.g., budget governance, monthly operating reviews, forecasting, and performance to support topline growth and bottom-line profitability targets
  • Assist in preparation of performance reporting packages to be presented to key stakeholders including senior management and Board of Directors

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • 8-10 years of experience with consumer products and technology 
  • Proven success in stakeholder management; ability to serve as a trusted advisor
  • Demonstrated ability to excel in a fast-paced environment and capacity to direct, produce, and communicate financial analyses at an executive level
  • Strong business acumen and financial modeling skills required
  • History of managing and growing a high performing team
  • Experience with budget and forecast development, establishing KPIs to define success, and profitability & unit economics analyses 
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint, financial modeling, and data analytics
  • Strong understanding of GAAP accounting and financial statement modeling
  • Self-starter who can take on significant responsibility and drive process change independently
  • Team player with an exceptional work ethic
  • Intellectual curiosity with rigorous attention to detail and a passion for problem solving
  • Bachelor’s degree; MBA desirable
