SimpliSafe’s mission is to keep every home secure. We believe safety and security is a human right. Whether at home or the office, SimpliSafe will always strive to create a safe and inclusive environment for every person. Building an inclusive environment and community is the right thing to do, and it empowers us to be innovative and brave so we can build more together.

Supporting everyone on our team

We’re proud to have launched four Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), and we aspire to create more in the future.

Provides support for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) team members by fostering a safe space and driving a cultural shift so SimpliSafe can be more inclusive and equitable. This group advocates for BIPOC employees and engages with our marginalized communities through events, volunteering, and charity.
Engages Women in Tech (WIT) to create and foster an inclusive company culture where women are actively empowered to grow and thrive.
Nurturing a company culture where caregivers are actively supported, included, and empowered to thrive in the workplace and at home.
Continuously nurtures our organization’s culture so team members can be their authentic selves.

New initiatives for a better tomorrow

  • Completed first-ever Challenging Our Biases for the Better training for all people managers, leaders, People team members, and ERG leads with approximately 200 participants across departments. We plan to continue building this muscle with additional training in the future.
  • Launched mentorship programs with our ERG members and leaders.
  • Actively support caregivers, including participating in theSkimm’s #ShowUsYourLeave campaign on LinkedIn, where we promoted our expansive paid family leave plan.
  • Regularly conduct interviewer training to help eliminate unconscious biases in the recruiting process and promote more inclusive hiring practices. promote more inclusive hiring practices.
  • Recently enhanced our benefit offerings based on employee feedback and will continue to ensure our benefits meet the diverse needs of our team.

Simplisafe and SMASH

We’re creating a safer world by helping grow the leaders of tomorrow. That’s why SimpliSafe has partnered with the non-profit organization SMASH. We’re dedicated to eliminating the barriers faced by young underrepresented people of color in STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) by fostering their untapped talent for the advancement of our nation.

Celebrating each other year-round

Our DEI team and other team members share their perspectives and personal experiences for our Heritage Newsletter. We’ve curated resources to celebrate aspects of different cultures and help our entire SimpliSafe community become more aware. Some of our past newsletters include:

  • Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month
  • Pride LGBTQIA+ Month
  • Hispanic/Latiné Heritage Month

In addition to sending out our newsletters, we plan events that let our team experience the various cultures and backgrounds of the SimpliSafe team. Some of our cultural activities include hosting a potluck during AAPI Month, having a speaker series during Women’s History Month, watching educational films during Black History Month, and more!
