Software Engineering Manager
SimpliSafe’s Monitoring Engineering organization is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Monitoring User Experience (MUX) team. This team is responsible for maintenance and delivery of backend, frontend, and mobile features and products that are used by both our Monitoring Center staff and over a million customers to interact with our award winning home security solution.
The ideal candidate has experience building and leading agile teams and a passion for developing people and acting as a force multiplier, while having the technical strength to get in the weeds and accurately assess and grow team performance.
Directly manage a team of 5-8 developers
Hire world-class people for your team, and grow the existing team members
Collaborate with product owners and program managers to translate business requirements to technical work, and prioritize the execution of the work for your team
Oversee the day-to-day operation of the team to ensure that your work provides business value, while protecting the technical health of our products
Identify product/resource/technical gaps and influence the direction of how those problems are solved.
Be collaborative by nature, and be a transparent communicator
Be adept at building consensus to solve technical and organizational challenges
Enjoy challenges and problem solving, helping to scale your team’s work and accelerate delivery
5+ years of professional software development experience, with a track record of scalable delivery
1-2 years of people management experience
