Senior Product Analyst

About SimpliSafe

We’re a high-tech home security company that’s passionate about protecting the life you’ve built and our mission of keeping Every Home Secure. And we’ve created a culture here that cares just as deeply about the career you’re building. Ours is a no ego culture of collaboration and innovation where those seeking their next challenge can find big opportunities and make a huge impact on the lives of all those who we protect. We don’t just want you to work here. We want you to grow and thrive here.

We’re embracing a hybrid work model that enables our teams to split their time between office and home. Hybrid for us means we expect our teams to come together in our state-of-the-art office on two core days, typically Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday – working together in person and choosing where they work for the remainder of the week. We all benefit from flexibility and get to use the best of both worlds to get our work done.

Why are we hiring?

Well, we’re growing and thriving. So, we need smart, talented, and humble people who share our values to join us as we disrupt the home security space and relentlessly pursue our mission of keeping Every Home Secure.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Product Analyst I to join our team with a dedicated focus on supporting our Hardware and Platform organizations. In this role, you will be the data engine behind our physical products and the foundational systems that power them.

While our analytics foundation is still maturing, you won't just report on data—you’ll help us refine it. You will dive deep into the performance of our devices, firmware, and platform services, transforming "messy" data into clear, actionable insights that help our engineers and product managers build better hardware. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys technical execution, tactile product development, and the challenge of building reliable reporting in an evolving data environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Hardware & Platform Support (60%): Conduct deep-dive analyses on device performance, connectivity, and platform reliability. You’ll track key performance indicators for new product launches, monitor firmware performance, and help the team understand how physical product changes impact the customer experience.
  • Data Quality & Pipeline Ownership (25%): Partner with Firmware, Software, Hardware and Data Engineering teams to improve the reliability of our data. You will be responsible for identifying tracking gaps, documenting data schemas for new features, building pipelines using transformation tools, and ensuring our "source of truth" for platform metrics is accurate.
  • Insight Delivery & Visualization (15%): Build and maintain automated dashboards in Tableau or Hex that allow the Hardware and Platform teams to self-serve. You’ll translate complex technical data into easy-to-understand visualizations for cross-functional stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For

  • Relevant Experience: 3–5 years of experience in product analytics, data analysis, or a related quantitative role. Experience working with hardware, IoT, or platform-based products is a significant plus.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong SQL skills are a must. You should be comfortable performing complex joins and data cleaning. Experience with data visualization and exploration tools (Tableau, Amplitude, or Hex) and a working knowledge of Python for data manipulation. Experience with transformation tools like dbt is a plus.
  • Analytical Rigor: You have a "detective" mindset. You enjoy digging into the "why" behind a metric shift and are comfortable working with imperfect data to find the most accurate signal.
  • Collaborative Execution: You are a great partner to Product Managers and Engineers. You can take a technical question (e.g., "How is the new Wi-Fi chip performing?") and turn it into a structured data project.
  • Detail-Oriented: You care about data documentation and ensuring that the numbers you present are validated and reproducible.

This Role Is NOT for You If…

  • You prefer working on high-level business strategy rather than getting into the weeds of product performance and technical data.
  • You are looking for a perfectly "clean" data warehouse where everything is already mapped out.
  • You prefer working in a silo rather than collaborating daily with engineering and product teams.

Why You’ll Love It Here

  • Direct Product Impact: Your work will directly influence the next generation of home security hardware used by millions of people.
  • Skill Development: You’ll have the opportunity to sharpen your technical skills in data modeling and analytics while working on complex IoT data sets.
  • Collaborative Culture: You’ll be part of a team that values humility, high standards, and a "one team" mentality.

What Values You’ll Share

  • Customer Obsessed - Building deep empathy for our customers, putting them at the core of our work, and developing strong, long-term relationships with them.
  • Aim High - Always challenging ourselves and others to raise the bar.
  • No Ego - Maintaining a “no job too small” attitude, and an open, inclusive and humble style.
  • One Team - Taking a highly collaborative approach to achieving success.
  • Lift As We Climb - Investing in developing others and helping others around us succeed.
  • Lean & Nimble - Working with agility and efficiency to experiment in an often ambiguous environment.

What We Offer

  • A mission- and values-driven culture and a safe, inclusive environment where you can build, grow and thrive
  • A comprehensive total rewards package that supports your wellness and provides security for SimpliSafers and their families (For more information on our total rewards please click here)
  • Free SimpliSafe system and professional monitoring for your home.
  • Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) that bring people together, give opportunities to network, mentor and develop, and advocate for change.
