Business Development Specialist

SimpliSafe is a growing home technology company in Boston on a mission to Make Every Home Secure.  We are seeking a Business Development Specialist to join us in disrupting the $13B home security industry.

This role is perfect for a detail-obsessed and creative self-starter.  You should relish the opportunity to identify, source and close targeted prospects. This is a unique opportunity to be on the ground floor of a growing business development team with plenty of inbound leads seeking our solution. You will balance fielding these inbound leads with calls to warm partner lists to fill your pipeline. You will use consultative selling skills to help customers design the right security solution for their spaces and you will also partner closely with internal team members to achieve our aggressive growth goals. 

In This Role, You’ll Have the Opportunity to 

  • Engage and On-board new customers
  • Position the value of SimpliSafe to potential  customers
  • Keep your activity level high (60-100 activities per day) through calls, emails, and meetings 
  • Manage a pipeline of inbound, partner, and self-sourced leads to identify, engage, and develop relationships with potential customers
  • Close business with new customers
  • Cultivate relationships and create an exceptional customer experience through the sales cycle
  • Help grow the sales team and build a scalable, repeatable process 
  • Take and apply feedback from coaches and leaders to continuously improve performance 
  • Become and expert in SimpliSafe’s award winning products and service
  • Ability to work well independently and also in a team environment


  • 0-2 years sales experience, Technology & B2B experience a plus
  • Bachelor's degree
  • High acumen for and desire to learn sales
  • Coachable and seeking ongoing professional growth
  • Strong record of success in whatever you have done
  • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills
