What You’ll Do

We seek a Lead Content Strategist with proven UX writing expertise, who can align with our brand writing guidelines to write copy that helps create a consistent E2E journey for our customers, to join our growing UX Design and Research team as part of the Product organization. 

This is an opportunity to help transform and lead the content strategy, copywriting, and editing across all of our products collaborating cross-functionally with UX, product managers, engineering, customer experience, and marketing partners to deliver simple and easy-to-use digital and physical products for our home security services.

Our content touches many areas from mobile App, online documentation, and print manuals/user guides, to support content that needs close collaboration with our Customer Experience and Marketing teams. You’ll be the lead to help us design a great user experience for all of our customers.

Primary responsibilities include: 

  • Based on user insights and business priorities, drives the definition of a clear and actionable strategic direction for the development and management of content, copy, and messaging within Product
  • Be the point person in Product, collaborating with Marketing/Brand to ensure alignment with our SimpliSafe brand, voice, style guidelines and develop content design principles, and evolve as needed
  • Work collaboratively to manage and communicate product content needs creating alignment across the organization 
  • Join UX designers and researchers in building an understanding of our home security user journey and translating them into content experiences from concepts, user personas, and prototypes to final products
  • Design/write/edit consistent and concise copy across Product in mobile app and print such as user manuals and quick start guides delivering a consistent end-to-end user experience from activation, onboarding, and engagement
  • Develop plans, contribute to information architecture and navigation decisions, and create taxonomies and content models as needed
  • Advocate for how content can be used to build trust and relationships with users
  • Use data and customer feedback to measure the effectiveness of the content strategy and pivot as needed
  • Audit our product content, messaging, and communication for accuracy and consistency 
  • Stay on top of industry trends and best practices, including the incorporation of AI to recommend and improve efficiency as needed

What You’ll Bring

  • Expert verbal and written communication skills. Solid expertise in content strategy, copywriting, UX writing, and technical writing
  • You have empathy and understanding. You focus on users, and you push to consider the voice of the customer in your collaboration with agile teams
  • You work independently, are self-motivated, working with stakeholders in Marketing/Brand and Customer Experience (CX) to provide clarity to ambiguity. You can iterate and rewrite quickly
  • You are curious by nature and have an experimental, learning, and iterative mindset
  • You have a knack for translating complex to easy to understand terms, keeping it conversational and human
  • You help determine what needs to be done, why, and the best way to do it
  • You support and inspire teams through collaboration as well as direction, vision, and planning of deliverables
  • You are optimistic, generative, curious, and open to new ideas and diversity of thought. Mindful of accessibility and inclusivity
  • Expertise with various content management systems and tools such as Contentful or similar and familiarity with design tools such as Figma, FigJam, Miro, etc.
  • You must submit a writing portfolio or samples when you apply.


  • A bachelor’s degree is preferred: English, Journalism, Information Design, or similar
  • You understand that great user experiences go beyond the digital screen and you have deep expertise working with experiences at the intersection of hardware, software, and service design
  • You have worked on products launched and used by many customers/users where collaboration across go-to-market, product marketing, and customer experience teams is key for success.
